AP 6511 is designed for one of the most challenging wireless LAN enviroments - domitory and hotel guest rooms and with the small size and universal mounting system, instalation is quick and easy. Device operates in either 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz frequency bands to support 802.11b/g/n or 802.11a/n wireless LANs. Integrated, dual 3.5dBi gain antennas and 2x2 MIMO technology extend the performance and range for legacy and new 802.11n clients. This unique multi-purpose device can execute and enforce the IDS/IPS security policies configured in the Motorola wireless switch, and can also be utilized as a 24x7 dedicated sensor with Wireless IPS from Motorola AirDefense solutions. Designed to 'hide in sight' over any standard Cat5/6 structured wiring plate, there are no WiFi or WLAN markings so the unit is discreet and subtle.

The AP 6511 was designed to be installed in any location; plenum space, flush to a wall surface,or over a structured wiring telecom box. This intelligent product design allows the wireless LAN to be installed in minutes, not hours, to support a range of mobile devices such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones. In multiple dwelling units such as hotels; high attenuation fire walls, mirrors, plumbing and ceramic tile can require extensive planning for the wireless LAN.
